Well yeah. . . I know they do because I've been this [--] close to buying one but I just can't do it.

So the number on my card is currently unavailable. [said that the phone woman's voice]

TEAM ROKIT.

To protect the world from devastation,
To unite all peoples within our nation
...
...

To sell vintage clothes.

Please excuse the bad quality iPod photos!

I absolutely love it here - kinda feels like I'm not at work because I organise clothes and talk to customers about clothes all day. It's so much fun! I'm able to do a bit of visual merchandising within the store too~! We redress all mannequins in the store each week.

Here are some of my first attempts~!

Here I used swimsuits and Rokit Recycled tops and skirts.

We are loving Hawaiian prints this year, ne?
In this display I mixed Hawiian with a Rockabilly diner style.

Men's Hawaiian shirt with bangles around the waist to show how the top would sit pulled in on the waist like that. If you're short enough I love it when women are able to wear men's shorts as dresses, or with a little skirt just showing~ Super cute! ^_^

This is my Rockabilly Diner Lady ~ Meeting with the boys to race cars and fixing them up in a 'Grease' like setting.

I have done a course at uni on visual merchandising so let me know how you think I did!

So with my new job I have moved to London~ where I have the time and space to begin designing again... more on that story later. ~_^

PS~ No more radio shows with my uncle because I can't get to the studio in time! ;_; I might come back for one show one day, then I will keep you posted!

LIL'BLOGUPDATE.

Sometimes I feel like life goes too quickly to blog.

So here's an update~

I'm engaged
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

\(^v^)/
Teddy proposed during our Hawaii holiday on Anini Beach on the island of Kauai where we were staying. Such a beautiful place and will forever be one of my favourite places ever.

[not Anini]

And I'm now in London. Was working for Reiss for a small spell. Met some really cool people. I'll probably be down here for around a year.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE COLOUR?

My lovely sister-in-law took me to buy a wig when I was last visiting them and as I've been debating with whether to dye my hair a lighter colour I thought that I would wear it for a while. I like the idea of wearing it on occasional when I feel like a change, the same as I might decide to wear a hat.

Let me know what you think!

SPRING/SUMMER COLLECTION: PHOTOSHOOT

Photos of my S/S2012 collection are up on the website ~ www.fifijosephine.com, from there you can go to collections and get access to collections past and present.
This season's shoot was so much fun. It was taken in a Japanese style garden in Edinburgh~ The Edinburgh Kyoto Friendship garden at LauristonCastle - it was so cute and the Sakura blossoms where just out. (^_^)

The Gardens were still open to the public, who seemed to enjoy the attraction. ^-^

I wanted this shoot to be cheeky, fun, and relaxed + so I'm happy I've got some really good shots of everyone being silly.

Thanks to the super awesome models(!!), the people at Lauriston Castle, and a good friend for letting me borrow her camera. ;P

SPRING SUMMER COLLECTION: NANBAN

I know I haven't posted in a long time. Truth is I've had no time. :(
I've been creating my collection for spring summer which mixes two themes close to my heart~~

Broken technology + media, and the Geisha + Samurai of old Japan.

Using the idea of broken technology and how data fragments over a hard disc drive I mixed around ideas of garment pattern cutting and digital print. Taking into account what happened in The Meiji Restoration of Japan which was when Western dress was first adopted from the traditional Japanese robes. There was also no more regulations regarding dress from that point which led me to ask the question: What if they only added parts of the suit to their way of dressing? What developed from that isn't really an East meets West mix but rather East downloaded into a fragmented file on a broken hard disc.

 Nanban [
なんばん] = foreigner in Japanese

Here is some of the art behind the collection~

The photo shoot will be up on my website soon - just have a few tweaks but I'm on an Easter break so I'm sure I'll have time. (^ᴥ^)
