NEW HAIR: OMBRE..?

We both know I love pastel colours, right. But I felt like a little change for this summer. 'Ombré' hair is back after a little vacay ~ so I made a version.  (´◉◞౪◟◉)

I mixed purple and blue crazy colours, on top of my already faded blue hair to get this multi-tonal-thing I've got going. It's so dark I'm not used to it! So I'm hoping that when it lightens up it'll look really cool. (╯3╰)
Let me know what you think in comments~ This look is also on lookbook. (◕‿-)
PS~ I might be posting up some things from the past where I had pastel blue hair ~ just to mess with everyone's heads and also because I've got quite a big secret project going on at the moment and there isn't enough hours in the day!! Gomen ne!

きをつけて, my lovelies.♥

BIRDS NEST.

Spring is here !!

Chiii~huuu !! (((((ノ☉3☉)ノ

["yippeee" in Hawaiian Pigeon]

So to celebrate Spring I bought some birds...

fake ones though.

They live in my hair [yep, this is how my brain works].

I got them from Paperchase, in the wedding section [an exciting place to be as I'm planning mine *eeeee*]. I think they're meant to be on place settings and things like that, but this isn't the first time I've worn birds in my hair so I knew right away where their new home would be!

They had quite dark brown feathers on them so I had them clipped, 1. So they don't fly away *duh* and 2. because I very rarely wear brown in any capacity.

Their little crocodile clips are probably murdering my bleached hair but it means they haven't fallen out!

So here they are in action !!

They sit really nice
with my flower headband.

With bows too!

Let me know what you think ~ should I wear more animals in my hair? *yes*
What creature should be next?

CUT SHORT.

So my hair has been 2 different lengths, with blinding bangs, and Ahoge.

That one hair sticking up out of place on Hatsune Miku [common in a lot of anime] ~ that's Ahoge.
Literally comical.

Luckily in London there are always salons looking for hair models, they come into the shop a lot and ask to cut my hair a lot ~ I guess I stand out as my hair is that bad blue...

I was a little reluctant to get it cut because believe it or not I was trying to grow it long... (>_>) But you can't have both bleached and long hair when your hair is naturally very dark and thick like mine ~ it's just been snapping away at the edges ever since it's been bleached so this happened~~~~

And here's what I think I look like~~~~

Howl from Howl's Moving Castle.

A Medieval Boy.
That fashion designer from The Invincibles.

Blergh I'll get used to it. ;P

BOUND UP BANGS + MICKEY.

What?.... eh?... erm is that a forehead I see?

Yep... well my bangs are getting too long to wear with my kitty frames so it's one or the other until I get a hair cut. ~So Annoying~ I used to only have to get a hair cut 2wice a year... now it's like once a month...

unless I cut it myself but then it's like
/:)

So this is how I'm rockin' it ~ welcome to the world after a year of darkness, my forehead !!

And here is another awesome t-shirt from Rokit ~ it's Mickeys all the way down !!

Random Kawaii burger and ice-cream tote bag + domo-kun plush key chain....
 ...And I'm ready for work !! \(^o^)/

TWIN-TAILS.

Twin-Tails Are Not Just For Little Girls

So curl up your hair, split it between two hair-bands and get twin-tailing !! \(^o^)/
pink coca-cola bottle washed
away in my sea-like hair ~ star fish & turtle for
additional theme support.
IMO, twin-tails are best when they're a little imperfect ~ a bit messy. Team them up with some dark colours and avoid short skirts. Because twin-tails are a big step in the kawaii-lolita direction and a bit riskay for anyone over the age of 6 ~ could be NSFW if you want to be taken seriously !! ;P

We love a bit of risk though, don't we? :)

Here I still had kawaii additions to my outfit [like the unicorn's head on my chest] ~ I love mixing lolita + 'mature' styling. Fun Fun Fun (^-^)

Let me know what you think, would you rock twin-tails or do you think it reminds you too much of when you woke up early to watch as many cartoons as you can.

HAIR-(RE)DO TAKE II

So I could only stand having blonde roots for so long. On top of that my hair grows pretty fast so I was getting roots on my roots (INCEPROOTS) And Black-Blonde-green wasn't really the look I was going for... (>.>)

So I used the Bubblegum blue ManicPanic colour as a kind of reset. This is back to how I wanted it, I've always wanted a bright blue, and I might make it more of a pastel tone but for now I'm just enjoying my 'bubblegum'.
I went to get my bangs cut soon after this.

Its tough sometimes to reset your go-to outfits so you hair doesn't clash with your wardrobe. For this outfit I stuck to black (simple and safe) with hints of colour and a bandanna that compliments my hair, to let my new colour be my statement piece of the outfit.

Let me know what you think in the comments, and which colour should I go next? (^.^)

BANDANANANANA.

I love a bandanna. I always like to tie them at the front of my hair in a sort of Tu-pac style{see fig.1}.

{fig.1 ~ Tu-pac's headgear of choice.}

Unfortunatly for Tu-pac, having a fringe makes the whole bandanna placement a whole lot easier. They sit perfectly just above my bangs. Which is probably why I love wearing them so much, they're so quick and easy, and they come in endless varieties.

Here's one of my favourites.~

Of course it's a Disney Princess Bandanna
~ we're here for kawaii, ne? \(^o^)/

At the moment I'm wearing across Cinderella and Snow White ~ the two blue ones to match up with my hair a little. I might switch it up but I always press my bandanna's when they're folded to make sure they stay like that. So to switch them up like that would mean more ironing... (>.>)

One of the main issues with the bandanna when wearing it like I do is that you want to make sure most of the picture is visible. But folding it into itself like wrapping it up means that a lot of the pattern is disrupted. To fix that I fold them in half like normal then fold them like a fan until there's only a little bit left, then I wrap it around like usual. You can fan-fold it all the way but wrapping it around a little means that it won't slip out of the fold as easy. I super steam press them [mine are all cotton so it's okay ~ watch out with the polyester ones though[!!]].

I usually only need 1 or 2 kirbi grips to keep it still ~ usually beside the knot or just above my ear as shown.

HAIR-(RE)DO.

Today I was in Holborn at the lovely Brooks+Brooks salon as a hair model.

Basically, as they're training their staff I get a free hair cut - win win !!

And I so super needed it, as seen here (a sneak preview of OUTFIT POST#4), my roots are like an inch long and my hair is a mixture of lilac and grey. I was getting fed up of it, so a free color was awesome.

I spoke to my hairdresser, Rosie, and said about my roots needing a fix and looking for an overall dye of a mermaid-pastel-blue. Here are the results~

"Tada"

She didn't colour my roots though that has left this faded dip-dye effect.

The change from platinum blonde to blue to greenish is super mermaid ~ I love it!

And just to prove it's mermaid style here's me making a fishy face. :3
